Falsities & Forgeries turns gaslighting into an art form by elevating everyday manipulation into an elegant, high-stakes heist. In this game, you are a Master Forger trying to steal originals and sell forgeries to the gallery, while the rest of the players act as art critics trying to appraise the legitimacy of your exhibit. During a round, every player takes a turn taking the stage as the 'Curator,' tasked with presenting a narrative exhibit to the rest of the table. The mechanics are built entirely on improvised deception, where players have total creative freedom to curate a story about themselves, someone they know, or any world event. Players can use prompt cards as suggestions to help craft their stories, choosing to tell long detailed stories or shorter anecdotes and hot takes about anything. Ranging from personal experiences to celebrity drama, historical mishaps, ghost sightings, or even cold case files. The Curator must weaponize these facts or fabricate a masterpiece to control the room. To win, you must pull off your heist by convincing the critics to throw out the originals and accept the fakes into the collection. The Curator only scores if they can gaslight the table into voting incorrectly. However, if the gallery spots the forgery or recognizes the truth, they earn points for their sharp deduction.
