Description

Across the Greensea, as far as the edges of the Outer Rim, no airship is cheered louder than a bloomhunter when it comes into port. From the bustling capital of Ash Aris to the starry sky islands and distant glaciers, these adventurous captains voyage far and wide to gather the finest flowers, then ride the wind home in time to sell them to commoners and aristocrats alike. The most important day of the year for a bloomhunter is the Spring Festival of Ash Aris, when the five noble families who rule the capital island will select their official florist for the year to come. Bloomhunting companies vie to outdo each other with grand displays, generous donations, and partnerships forged throughout the archipelago. The Greensea is a vibrant culture in the prime of its history, brought to life through the vivid illustrations of Tom McGrath and Brad Alston. Bloomhunter is a game about exploring and building for two to four players, featuring a novel tile-laying mechanic. In under two hours, players create a new archipelago for each session, then survey the modular map to gather flowers. Take care when you place a tile: you'll need to match colors to secure new sources of flowers, but matching weather patterns is also vital, since you can only move freely along tiles of the same weather pattern. By carefully choosing your actions each turn, you'll be able to discover new islands, chart their terrain, and win over local allies, represented by a deck of over 30 unique cards. Gain points by turning in bouquets, giving lavish gifts to the nobles, and spreading your influence to new lands. The winning captain will be the one who uses their actions most efficiently and marshals their resources to deploy in high-scoring turns. Can you defeat your rivals to win the day?
