In Deep Down, each player represents a salvage crew attempting to make their fortune. Players complete contracts by retrieving objects from the bottom of the ocean and executing technical jobs. Those contracts will pay the players who in turn can use their hard-earned money to improve their crews and get the right equipment for the job. The game progresses as players score points. Those points are earned for accomplishing any of the following: Completing contracts Boosting reputation Exploring uncharted regions Fulfilling ambitions Collecting corporation shares —description from the designer
