Description

ROKURIGO is a two-player abstract strategy game that contains elements of Reversi. The playing area is a 6x6 grid, although players will be placing their pieces only in the central twenty spaces. Each player has three types of double-sided pieces that mirror the numbers you find on opposite sides of a standard six-sided die: 1/6, 2/5, and 3/4, with five of each piece. Some numbers are printed on the game board. Players take turns placing a piece on the game board. You can freely place one of your pieces in the four central spaces or on the second-closest row of the game board. If you want to place a piece elsewhere, though, you must "sandwich" a piece Reversi-style in order to flip it. You need to track the sum of numbers visible because if you bring the total to 33, then you capture one of the opponent's pieces. If you bring the total to 37 or more, then you lose the game instantly, so think carefully before you flip something!
