Description

In Economy, players representing different countries develop the resources of their respective lands to create an industrial civilisation. Commencing with significant natural resources scattered throughout their lands, players struggle against the handicaps of a small population and the ravages of famine and disease to establish the basic amenities of civilised life, such as Governments, Hospitals and Education facilities. The tempo of development quickens as players increase their populations, mechanise transport systems and trade with one another to obtain commodities which they need. As more and more people are freed from agricultural activities, the industrial workforce increases, factory construction commences and the manufacturing industry is born. The steel, chemical, electrical, alumina and petroleum industries follow one another in rapid succession ushering in the modern era. The winner of the game is the first player to build and operate a supersonic passenger airliner.
